Initiate broader public into the high quality contemporary art world.
Create an open space for communication and interaction of the art world and society.
INI Gallery aims to bridge the gap between young artists and the public. We want to show that financial, informational and institutional barriers are weaker than they seem. And, most importantly, we want it to be two-way traffic. INI means to initiate. To introduce the general public to the language and thinking of contemporary art. To make a personal relationship between artists and those interested in their works possible. To stimulate a discussion which will lead the artist out of the art world for a while, and let the public look into it at the same time.
To achieve these goals, we need an individual and personal approach. We choose the artists we work with because we believe in the value and meaning of their work. However, personal trust is also essential. Only then can our cooperation be long-term and mutually enriching. We seek to create stimulating conditions for growth through curatorial activities, a virtual gallery and exhibitions presented in various alternative or non-gallery spaces, as well as through lectures, workshops and other projects. We support young artists in an important yet difficult stage of their career by promoting sales or rentals of their artworks. We also help potential art lovers to find a personal relationship to a piece of artwork. And if they wish, we offer them a chance for a meaningful investment. Because we believe that good art does not have to be expensive or old.
INI Gallery is a non-profit project based to a large extent on voluntary work. It was found by the INI Project civic association. All income from our activities is invested in non-commercial projects: exhibitions, publications, workshops and other educational programs. If you feel inspired by our work and you would like to support us in both financial and non-financial means, please contact us. Any support from your side helps us to further develop our activities and give them even more sense.
